  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula
  • Oven

Method

  1. Step 1
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and gently press into the edges. Use a fork to prick the bottom of the crust. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.

  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened and fragrant.

  7. Step 4
  8. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and thyme until smooth and creamy.
  9. Step 5
  10. Spread the cooked vegetables evenly inside the baked crust. Sprinkle Gruyère cheese and cheddar cheese over the vegetables.
  11. Step 6
  12. Slowly pour the egg custard mixture into the crust over the cheese and vegetables.
  13. Step 7
  14. Bake the quiche for 35 to 40 minutes until the center is set and the top becomes golden brown.
  15. Step 8
  16. Remove from oven and let the quiche rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
